My Process

In the first step, you'll fill out my request form, telling me the essential details about your project: word count, type of writing and/or genre, the final editing deadline, and what levels of editing it has been through already. Through that form you can also book a discovery call and attach a sample for me to copy edit.  

I will return the edited sample and answer any questions you have. We can do this over Google Meet or email; it's entirely your choice. We will discuss the project and my services in more detail. We'll discuss deadlines, payment plans, and other logistical details for the contract. For a copy edit, we'll discuss your style preferences. I will summarize all of this in one email to you and attach the contract. 

The contract will put both my standard terms, the deadlines we agree to, and any special provisions we have discussed for the project into writing.  

My standard terms include no AI use in the editing process.  

Once you e-sign the contract and send it, your deposit, and your document to me, I'll begin work.

I will start to edit your writing based on the deadlines we have discussed. This includes two "rounds" of exchanging the manuscript: edit and revision.  I'll keep you updated via email. The first round ends when I deliver the manuscript to you for your review. Your next milestone payment is due at this time.

You review it and accept or reject my changes and answer my margin questions. You will tell me if any of my comments produce changes you'd like me to make for you.  The next milestone payment comes at this point. In this second round, I implement those last changes and return the final version. 

Your final payment will be due at this point. Upon receipt of that payment, our contract is successfully completed.

I will send an optional customer survey with your receipt.
