My Editorial Process

In the first step, you'll fill out my request form, telling me the essential details about your project: word count, type of writing and/or genre, the final editing deadline, and what levels of editing it has been through already.  Through that form you can also book a discovery call and attach a sample for me to copy edit.  

The next step is a live discovery call via Google Meet. In this call, I will review the edited sample with you and answer any questions you have. We will discuss the project and my services in more detail. We will discuss the style preferences you have if you are interested in a copy edit. If you decide to go forward with me, I'll follow up with an email recapping the meeting and providing the service contract.

The contract will put both my standard terms and any special provisions we have discussed for the project into writing.  

My standard terms include no A.I. use in the editing process. 

Once you e-sign the contract and send it and your document to me, I'll begin work.

I will start to edit your writing based on the deadline we have discussed.  This includes two "rounds", edit and revision.  I'll keep you updated via email.

I submit the edited document to you. You review it and accept or reject my changes and answer my margin questions. You will tell me if any of my comments produce changes you'd like me to make for you.  I complete those and return the final version.

Your final payment will be due at this point; I'll invoice you. Upon receipt of that payment, our contract is successfully completed.

I will send an optional customer survey with your receipt.
